Omni Healthcare were proud to support the AusBIG Conference with an outstanding and well received range of Bariatric equipment from our XXL Range.  

The effective communication of bariatric information across the health services has been a long standing challenge. 

The Australasian Bariatric Innovations Group (AusBIG) held its first National conference in Melbourne on August 14^th/15^th 2014. The conference addressed the importance of management of the bariatric person in an acute or emergency situation.    The conference was run over 2 days with national and international speakers addressing the following Bariatric topics:

 - Seating and handling – movement and transfer aids.   

 - Awareness of body types and understanding aids and equipment considerations.

 - The journey of Bariatric room design in the hospital and home settings.

 - Transporting bariatric patients in the ambulance service.

 - Psychological understanding in obesity and socio-economic inequalities severe obesity.

The Omni Healthcare XXL Bariatric range has been engineered and functionally designed to have a weight capacity of 325kg.  Key features of the design include; easy access, independence, safety and caregiver terms.  Footrests, which are generally the weakest point of Bariatric products, carry 100kg and are side/width adjustable.  This means that clients with fat-tissue placed on the inside of their leg can sit with legs apart – up to 110cm.
